Poland Launches Fighter Jets Following Major Russian Assault on Ukraine

In reaction to the extensive Russian offensive targeting Ukraine, Poland has activated its military aircraft. The operational readiness of air defense and radar surveillance systems has been prioritized. This information was disseminated by the press office of the Polish Armed Forces’ Operational Command.
“Due to the hostilities initiated by the Russian Federation against locations in Ukraine, military aircraft are currently active within Polish airspace. As per the established protocols, the commander of the Polish Armed Forces has deployed the required assets and resources at his command. Fighter jets have been activated, while ground-based air defense and radar systems have achieved a state of readiness,” the agency stated around 7 AM.
Furthermore, the announcement highlighted that these measures are precautionary, designed to maintain the safety and integrity of the airspace, particularly in regions neighboring sensitive areas.
“The Operational Command of the Polish Armed Forces is actively monitoring the ongoing situation, ensuring that subordinate forces and resources remain ready for any immediate action,” the agency added.
