Drunkenness
(2-minute read)
In a world reborn from the ravages of the flood, Noah and his sons embark on a journey to reshape humanity’s destiny. Amidst the backdrop of verdant vineyards on Mount Lubar, Noah, the patriarch, celebrates a bountiful harvest with a sacred feast, only for tragedy to strike when Ham, driven by curiosity, exposes his father’s vulnerability. This act of betrayal sets off a chain of events as Shem and Japheth, with reverent care, seek to restore their father’s dignity, while Noah’s wrathful curse upon Canaan echoes ominously through the generations.
As Noah imparts the sacred commandments to his descendants, he warns them of the perils that once led to mankind’s downfall: the forbidden unions of the Watchers, the birth of monstrous giants, and the rivers of bloodshed that polluted the earth. His plea for righteousness and harmony is a desperate bid to prevent history from repeating itself. Despite his warnings, tensions rise among his sons, threatening to unravel the fragile peace. Ham, embittered by his father’s curse, parts ways to forge his own path, while Japheth, driven by envy, builds his own city, and Shem, ever faithful, remains by Noah’s side, establishing a new legacy close to home.
In the shadow of Mount Lubar, three cities emerge, each named after the wives of Noah’s sons, marking the divergent paths of a family striving to balance duty, ambition, and the haunting specters of their past. The saga of Noah and his lineage unfolds with dramatic tension and profound moral stakes, as the seeds of future conflict and redemption are sown in the fertile grounds of their new world.

Noah gives instructions to his sons
Jubilees 7:20-39
20 And in the twenty-eighth jubilee [1324-1372 A.M.] Noah began to enjoin upon his sons’ sons the ordinances and commandments, and all the judgments that he knew, and he exhorted his sons to observe righteousness, and to cover the shame of their flesh, and to bless their Creator, and honour father and mother, and love their neighbour, and guard their souls from fornication and uncleanness and all iniquity.
21 For owing to these three things came the flood upon the earth, namely, owing to the fornication wherein the Watchers against the law of their ordinances went a whoring after the daughters of men, and took themselves wives of all which they chose: and they made the beginning of uncleanness.
22 And they begat sons the Naphidim, and they were all unlike, and they devoured one another: and the Giants slew the Naphil, and the Naphil slew the Eljo, and the Eljo mankind, and one man another.
23 And every one sold himself to work iniquity and to shed much blood, and the earth was filled with iniquity.
24 And after this they sinned against the beasts and birds, and all that moves and walks on the earth: and much blood was shed on the earth, and every imagination and desire of men imagined vanity and evil continually.
25 And the Lord destroyed everything from off the face of the earth; because of the wickedness of their deeds, and because of the blood which they had shed in the midst of the earth He destroyed everything.
26 ‘And we were left, I and you, my sons, and everything that entered with us into the ark, and behold I see your works before me that ye do not walk in righteousness: for in the path of destruction ye have begun to walk, and ye are parting one from another, and are envious one of another, and (so it comes) that ye are not in harmony, my sons, each with his brother.
27 For I see, and behold the demons have begun (their) seductions against you and against your children and now I fear on your behalf, that after my death ye will shed the blood of men upon the earth, and that ye, too, will be destroyed from the face of the earth.
28 For whoso sheddeth man’s blood, and whoso eateth the blood of any flesh, shall all be destroyed from the earth.
29 And there shall not be left any man that eateth blood, or that sheddeth the blood of man on the earth, Nor shall there be left to him any seed or descendants living under heaven; For into Sheol shall they go, And into the place of condemnation shall they descend, And into the darkness of the deep shall they all be removed by a violent death.
30 There shall be no blood seen upon you of all the blood there shall be all the days in which ye have killed any beasts or cattle or whatever flies upon the earth, and work ye a good work to your souls by covering that which has been shed on the face of the earth.
31 And ye shall not be like him who eats with blood, but guard yourselves that none may eat blood before you: cover the blood, for thus have I been commanded to testify to you and your children, together with all flesh.
32 And suffer not the soul to be eaten with the flesh, that your blood, which is your life, may not be required at the hand of any flesh that sheds (it) on the earth.
33 For the earth will not be clean from the blood which has been shed upon it; for (only) through the blood of him that shed it will the earth be purified throughout all its generations.
34 And now, my children, harken: work judgment and righteousness that ye maybe planted in righteousness over the face of the whole earth, and your glory lifted up before my God, who saved me from the waters of the flood.
35 And behold, ye will go and build for yourselves cities, and plant in them all the plants that are upon the earth, and moreover all fruit-bearing trees.
36 For three years the fruit of everything that is eaten will not be gathered: and in the fourth year its fruit will be accounted holy [and they will offer the first-fruits], acceptable before the Most High God, who created heaven and earth and all things. Let them offer in abundance the first of the wine and oil (as) first-fruits on the altar of the Lord, who receives it, and what is left let the servants of the house of the Lord eat before the altar which receives (it).
37 And in the fifth year make ye the release so that ye release it in righteousness and uprightness, and ye shall be righteous, and all that you plant shall prosper.
38 For thus did Enoch, the father of your father command Methuselah, his son, and Methuselah his son Lamech, and Lamech commanded me all the things which his fathers commanded him.
39 And I also will give you commandment, my sons, as Enoch commanded his son in the first jubilees: whilst still living, the seventh in his generation, he commanded and testified to his son and to his son’s sons until the day of his death.’

Each of Noah's sons build cities and name them after their wives
Jubilees 7:13-17
13 And Ham knew that his father had cursed his younger son, and he was displeased that he had cursed his son. And he parted from his father, he and his sons with him, Cush and Mizraim and Put and Canaan.
14 And he built for himself a city and called its name after the name of his wife Ne’elatama’uk.
15 And Japheth saw it, and became envious of his brother, and he too built for himself a city, and he called its name after the name of his wife ‘Adataneses.
16 And Shem dwelt with his father Noah, and he built a city close to his father on the mountain, and he too called its name after the name of his wife Sedeqetelebab.
17 And behold these three cities are near Mount Lubar; Sedeqetelebab fronting the mountain on its east; and Na’eltama’uk on the south; ‘Adatan’eses towards the west.

Falling Action
Y: 1672 | Noah gives instructions to his sons
Jubilees 7:20-39
In the 28th jubilee, Noah began instructing the sons of his sons in the ordinances, commandments, and judgments that he knew. He urged his sons to live righteously, to cover the shame of their nakedness, to bless their Creator, honor their father and mother, love their neighbor, and guard their souls against sexual immorality, impurity, and all wickedness.
The flood came upon the earth because of 3 main things: first, the sexual immorality in which the Watchers broke the law of their ordinance and went after the daughters of men, taking wives for themselves from among all they chose. This was the beginning of impurity. They fathered the Naphidim, whose natures were corrupted. The Naphidim devoured one another, the Giants killed the Naphil, the Naphil killed the Eljo, and the Eljo killed human beings—each man killing the next. Everyone gave themselves over to wickedness and shedding blood, and the earth was full of corruption.
Then they even sinned against animals, birds, and all creatures that move or walk on the earth. Much blood was shed, and the thoughts and desires of men were constantly filled with vanity and evil. Because of their wicked actions and the blood spilled across the land, the Lord wiped everything from the face of the earth.
“And we were the only ones left—me, you, my sons, and all who entered the ark with us. But now I see your behavior, and I see that you are not walking in righteousness. You’re heading down the path of destruction. You’re dividing from one another, becoming envious of each other, and there is no harmony between you, my sons. I see that demons have already begun to lead you and your children astray, and I’m afraid that after I die, you will shed blood on the earth, and you too will be destroyed from its surface.
“Anyone who sheds human blood, or eats the blood of any creature, will be wiped out from the earth. No person who eats blood or sheds human blood will have any descendants left alive under heaven. They will go down to Sheol, the place of condemnation. They will be removed in violent death to the darkness of the deep. None of the blood from the animals or creatures you kill should remain visible on the earth. Do good for your own souls by covering any blood that has been shed.
“Don’t be like those who eat with blood still in it. Be careful that no one eats blood in your presence—cover it. I was commanded to teach this to you and your descendants, and to all flesh. Don’t let the soul be eaten with the flesh, so that your blood, which is your life, won’t be demanded from any creature that sheds it. The earth can’t be cleansed from the blood that has been spilled on it except by the blood of the one who spilled it. Only that way can the earth be purified through all generations.
“Now listen, my children: practice justice and righteousness so that you will be rooted in righteousness across the earth, and your honor will be lifted up before my God, who saved me from the waters of the flood.
“You will go out and build cities for yourselves and plant in them every kind of plant that grows on the earth, including all fruit trees. For the first 3 years, the fruit of anything edible must not be harvested. In the 4th year, its fruit will be considered holy, and they will offer the firstfruits as an offering pleasing to the Most High God, who created heaven, earth, and all things.
“Let them offer the first portion of wine and oil in abundance on the Lord’s altar, and the rest may be eaten by the servants of the house of the Lord before the altar where it is accepted. In the 5th year, practice the release—set it free with righteousness and integrity, and you will be righteous, and everything you plant will flourish.
“For this is what Enoch, the father of your grandfather, commanded Methuselah his son, and Methuselah taught it to Lamech, and Lamech taught it all to me just as he received it from his fathers. Now I will give you the same commandment, my sons, just as Enoch gave it to his son during the first jubilees. While he was still alive, the 7th in his generation, he instructed and testified to his son and his son’s sons until the day he died.”

Y: 1681 | Each of Noah’s sons build cities and name them after their wives
Jubilees 7:13-17
Ham knew that his father had cursed his younger son, and he was upset about the curse on his child. So he and his sons—Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan—left Noah. Ham built a city for himself and named it after his wife, Ne’elatama’uk.
When Japheth saw this, he became jealous of his brother. He also built a city and named it after his wife, ‘Adataneses.
Shem stayed with his father Noah and built a city near him on the mountain. He named his city after his wife, Sedeqetelebab.
These 3 cities were near Mount Lubar: Sedeqetelebab was on the east side of the mountain, Na’eltama’uk was to the south, and ‘Adatan’eses was toward the west.
