These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Bible Associations mobile application (“the App”), published by Gaillard Tech Services / Seventeen Eleven Studios (“we”, “us”). By downloading or using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

How we handle your information is covered separately in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms.

Who May Use the App

The App is suitable for all ages, but it is not directed at children under 13. You may play as a guest without providing any personal information at all. To create an account you must be at least 13 years old, or have the permission of a parent or guardian.

Your Licence to Use the App

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the App on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use.

You may not sell, rent, sublicense or redistribute the App or its puzzle content; reverse engineer or attempt to derive its source code, except where that restriction is prohibited by law; or extract, scrape or bulk-copy the puzzles, associations and other content in the App. We retain all rights in the App, its design, its artwork and the puzzles themselves.

Accounts

Signing in is optional. It exists so that your progress follows you to another device. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in method secure and for activity that takes place under your account.

You can permanently delete your account at any time inside the App, at Settings → Delete Account. We may suspend or close an account that is being used to break these Terms.

Purchases

The App is free to play. It also offers optional in-app purchases:

Hint packs are consumable. They are spent as you use them, and may be bought again.
The Sabbath Rest is a one-time purchase that permanently removes the ads shown between levels. It is tied to your store account and can be restored from the Shop on a new device.

All payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see or store your card number or any other payment details. The price you see is the one your store sets for your own region and currency.

Refunds are handled by the store you bought from, not by us, under Apple’s or Google’s own refund policies. If something has gone wrong with a purchase, write to us and we will help where we can, but we are not able to issue a refund ourselves.

Hints, stars, stickers and other in-game items have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money, and cannot be transferred between accounts.

Advertising

Ads help pay for the App. One ad may appear between levels, and you may choose to watch a rewarded ad in exchange for an extra hint or an undo. Rewarded ads are always your choice — declining one never takes anything away from you.

Ads in the App are always non-personalized, and ad content is restricted to a general-audience rating. The Sabbath Rest removes the between-levels ads permanently; rewarded ads remain available whenever you want one.

Ads are supplied by a third-party network, and we cannot guarantee that one is available at any given moment. If no ad can be shown, the break between levels is simply skipped and play continues. A reward that depends on watching an ad cannot be granted when no ad was shown.

Your Journal Entries

The App lets you keep your own notes on the puzzles you have played. Anything you write remains yours. Your notes are stored on your device, and also saved to your account if you are signed in, so that they follow you to a new device.

We do not publish your notes, show them to other players, or use them for advertising. You are responsible for what you write, and you should not use the journal to store unlawful content. Deleting your account deletes the notes saved to it.

Acceptable Use

Please do not use automated means to play the App; interfere with, overload or attempt to gain unauthorized access to our servers; exploit a bug in order to obtain hints, purchases or progress you did not pay for or earn; or use the App to break the law.

Availability and Changes

The Daily Puzzle, the puzzle archive and account sync depend on our servers. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the App, and we do not promise that it will always be available or uninterrupted. If we ever retire something you have paid for, we will act reasonably in doing so.

Scripture Text

Verse text displayed in the App is from the Berean Standard Bible, which is in the public domain. The App is made for study and enjoyment. It is not a substitute for reading Scripture itself, and nothing in it is offered as an authoritative theological ruling.

Disclaimer

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be free of errors or interruptions, or that its content is free of mistakes.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses arising out of your use of the App. Our total liability for any claim relating to the App is limited to the greater of the amount you spent on in-app purchases in the twelve months before the claim arose, or fifty United States dollars.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations, in which case those parts do not apply to you and the remainder of these Terms still stands.

Termination

You may stop using the App at any time, and delete your account from within it. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these Terms. Purchases are records held by Apple or Google; deleting your account does not cancel a purchase.

Apple and Google

These Terms are between you and us alone, and not with Apple or Google. Apple and Google are not responsible for the App or its content, and have no obligation to provide support for it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

Changes to These Terms

If we change these Terms we will update this page and its effective date. Material changes will be noted in the App’s release notes. Continuing to use the App after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
