Effective date: August 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how the Verselah mobile application (“the App”), published by Gaillard Tech Services / Seventeen Eleven Studios (“we”, “us”), handles your information. We built the App to collect as little as possible.

Information We Collect

Account information (optional). You may play as a guest or sign in. If you sign in with Google, Facebook, or Apple, we receive your name and email address from that provider solely to create your account. If you continue as a guest, an anonymous identifier is created for you and no personal information is collected.

Gameplay data. Your progress along the puzzle sequence, your statistics (solves, streaks, guess distribution), your Remez scroll balance, and your settings are stored on your device. If you are signed in, they are also saved to your account on our servers, so your progress follows you to a new device. If you play as a guest, your progress stays on your device only.

Purchases. The App offers optional in-app purchases: Remez scroll packs and a one-time “Sabbath Rest” ad-free unlock. Purchases are handled entirely by the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never receive or store your card number, billing address, or any other payment details. We store only what you own — your scroll balance and whether Sabbath Rest is active — so it can be restored on your other devices.

Daily reminder (optional). If you turn on the daily reminder, a notification is scheduled on your device at the time you choose. This is a local notification: it is not sent from our servers, and no information about it leaves your device. You can turn it off at any time in Settings, and the App only asks for notification permission if you choose to enable it.

Advertising. The App shows ads supplied by Google AdMob: a short ad between some puzzles, and an optional ad you may choose to watch to unseal a Remez — the App’s verse hint. To deliver these, Google may collect and process device information such as advertising identifiers, IP address, and general device type, used to show an ad, limit how often you see the same one, and prevent fraud. Google’s handling of that data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

What we do NOT collect. We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, or microphone audio. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not track you across other apps or websites — which is why the App never asks for tracking permission on iOS. We use no third-party analytics.

Advertising and Your Choices

Ads are non-personalized. The App always requests non-personalized ads, everywhere and for everyone. Non-personalized ads are selected from general context rather than from your interests or browsing history.

Ad content is restricted to a general-audience rating, in keeping with the App’s content.

If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, the App shows a consent form, provided by Google’s certified consent tool, before any ad is requested. You may consent or decline, and declining is offered as plainly as consenting. If you decline, no ads are shown at all. The rewarded ad that unseals a Remez then becomes unavailable; Remez scrolls remain available in the Shop, and nothing else in the game is affected.

You can remove ads. The one-time “Sabbath Rest” purchase permanently removes the ads shown between puzzles. The optional rewarded ad stays available if you ever choose to watch one.

How We Use Information

Account information is used only to authenticate you and to let your game progress follow you across devices. We do not use your information for marketing or profiling, we do not use it to target advertising, and we never sell or rent it to anyone.

Sharing of Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with the following, and only as needed to operate the App:

  • Supabase — our infrastructure provider, which hosts our database and authentication service and processes data only on our behalf.
  • Google AdMob — to deliver the advertising described above.
  • Apple and Google — to process in-app purchases, and to sign you in where you choose to use them.

Sign-in through Google, Facebook, or Apple is governed by those providers’ own privacy policies.

Data Retention

Account information, including any game progress saved to your account, is retained only while your account exists. When you delete your account (see below), your sign-in identity and all data associated with it are permanently deleted from our systems immediately. Anonymous guest accounts are subject to the same deletion. Gameplay data stored on your device remains under your control and is removed when you uninstall the App. Server logs, where present, are kept for a limited period for security purposes and then deleted.

Deleting Your Account and Your Data

You can permanently delete your account and its data at any time inside the App: Settings → Delete Account. This removes your sign-in identity together with any game progress saved to your account. You may also email us at grey@gaillardts.com and we will delete your account for you. This applies regardless of which sign-in method you used (Google, Facebook, Apple, or guest). Purchases are records held by Apple or Google; deleting your account does not cancel a purchase, and purchases can be restored at any time from the Shop.

Children’s Privacy

The App is suitable for all ages and is not directed at children under 13. Guest play requires no personal information whatsoever. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. Because the App requests only non-personalized ads and restricts ad content to a general-audience rating, advertising in the App is never based on a profile of the person viewing it.

Security

Account data is protected in transit with encryption (HTTPS/TLS) and hosted by Supabase with industry-standard safeguards.

Scripture Text

Verse text displayed in the App is from the Berean Standard Bible, which is in the public domain. Original-language glosses are drawn from the Berean interlinear tables and the public-domain Strong’s dictionaries.

Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and its effective date. Material changes will be noted in the App’s release notes.
